The Upgrade item can be used by trainers to evolve Porygon2 into Porygon2. This transformation requires an upgrade as well as the Sinnoh Stone and 50 Porygon Candy.

Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools. They offer an added benefit or effect when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors or other players, looted, obtained as a reward, or created using crafting materials. In addition to offering attribute bonuses Upgrade items also have cosmetic effects.
Infusions, inscriptions and enhancements are all types of upgrade component. They are not generally available for general use and are only available on equipment that has been elevated or certain weapons that aren't ascended from the Factions Campaign. You can retrieve infusions and inscriptions from equipment by using an Infusion Extractor Device or by salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
In contrast to other upgrade items, Phoenix Boxes can be traded even while still attached to the item they are upgrading, and they are able to be used again after they are salvaged. These upgrade items can be used to improve the quality of armor and weapons, without spending Dilithium. They can increase the chances that the item will receive a high-quality upgrade.
An upgrade component placed in an item can be replaced by another however, it will destroy the original one (except for upgrades of legendaries and equipment with ascended levels). Upgrade components are only available to upgraded items that have an identification level of zero or more. If you upgrade the weapon already equipped with a suffix or a prefix upgrade the item will be referred to as it would appear on the game screen (for instance, adding the Radiant insignia to Canthan Armor creates Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). A player is limited to three upgrade items at one time.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a great addition to any item. They provide unique advantages and boosts. Certain glyphs increase the number of affixes that an item has, which increases its effectiveness. These glyphs are acquired by working through the dungeons. They can also be found in certain World Tier 3 zones. It's important to remember that glyphs are only available to players who have created a root-dungeon with the same level of depth.
In order to use a Glyph, you must first build it from components and connect them using anchors. Then, the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths in the same layer. If you don't wish to build the glyph from components, you can build it using a combination of paths and anchors. Drag an element in the direction of a component highlighted to hold it into the right spot.
Some glyphs have conditions to meet, such as having 25 Dexterity or more in a particular area on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs require a particular number of Primary Stat Nodes to be activated, which can also be difficult to achieve. Some glyphs have a radius, which increases as you move it up.
Glyphs can be applied to many different weapons and items, with the exception for those of a specific class. Certain glyphs require conditions for instance, having a certain number of damage from Dexterity or Attack in a particular area on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph adds a 5% chance to deflect attacks from enemies. It also has the chance of 15% to render the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
Some glyphs may also be used on limited use tools, like the Black Lion Chest and Trading Post. These glyphs are counted towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.
The most popular glyphs used in the game are the attack glyphs, which increase Artifacts' ATK substats by a fixed amount. They are especially beneficial for ranged classes such as Warriors and Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph, which makes enemies who strike the Hero vulnerable to being damaged.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are tokens that are used to reroll one of the results rolled while taking an Action. When the reroll happens the tokens are then discarded. Reroll tokens are available in many ways, like raids and dungeons, or through participating in skirmishes. You can also purchase them in the shops, or from other players. They are especially useful in dungeons and trials, because they allow players to roll the rewards from the chest at the end.
For items in the range of 1 there are recycling points. When an item is recycled, it will add a certain number of points to the gauge for upgrading. This value is based on the rarity of the item and its level. Additionally, the upgraded item won't keep its level when it is rerolled and the cost for recycling an upgraded item rises with its level.
Alternatively, a player can use reroll tokens to make an upgrade item rerollable however, this won't bring the item back to its original level or provide the original statistics. This is useful for those who want to reroll an item that they don't love but still would like to keep it in their collection.
Three different types of upgrade coins are available in the game - reroll, randomly generated, and upgrade. Each type comes with a couple of subtypes. Reroll tokens, for example come in three levels of rarity: legendary, rare and enhanced. item upgrading requires an item from the level to make the new item of the same quality.
To use reroll tokens, click on the Satanic or Angelic item in the inventory and select "Reroll Token". Then, choose a type of token. The tokens available include Item Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns and Focus. Using an Item token will create a new Item of any quality. A Weapon or Misc token can create a new weapon of the same faction.
The item may be upgraded to a different item with similar stats, but at a higher level. This is likely to occur if the item has been placed in the Non-Droppable Pool, or if it was transferred to it as part of the franchise card.
